Founder of Happy Hire and obsessed with all things events. Jason has over 15 years of experience in the events industry and his enthusiasm will inspire you. Classic car enthusiast, Gin connoisseur and "yes dad" to Ava and Saskia, his vision for the Happy Hire brand and commitment to clients continues to fuel legions of happy repeat customers and sets the standard "Chief of Happiness". Jason particularly enjoys working within an events budget, whether it is a backyard party, a rustic wedding or a 10,000 person festival. Put simply - I love what I do and would love to work with you!

An ultra marathon runner and workhorse - Shaun lives life to the max and you can expect that same full noise energy when it comes to your event. Whether onsite running our major event pack ins or coordinating our three busy branches, meet Shaun and you will get a taste of his dynamic personality from the outset! I am extremely passionate about providing an outstanding service and will always go the extra mile to ensure all of our customers walk away from the happyhire experience with a smile.

An experienced event manager with a passion for the great outdoors, Rich has a deep understanding of what it takes to make an event truly successful. His meticulous attention to detail and pre-planning ensures everyone is on the same page and no stone is left unturned. Realising that people are the number one asset of any business, Rich is focused on creating a healthy and dynamic team culture where safety, wellbeing and happiness is always the number one priority. When he’s not out trail running or tramping in the backcountry, you can find Rich in our Christchurch branch working with the team on our processes or developing new business opportunities.

Called the Jack of all trades on many occasions, you'll find him doing everything. From Sorting the logistics of your event, fixing or building products, out running deliveries, or doing 30,000 steps in the warehouse. Our in house lighting and sound guru Jack's expertise and product knowledge across all areas of our business is an absolute asset to your next event.

A lover of burlesque and one eyed Canterbury Rugby Supporter. Our resident office DJ making things happen on the daily. Jo can simply be described as a Good B"tch-taking the happyhire customer service experience to a whole new level.. A self confessed road cyclist and one eyed rugby supporter Jo's enthusiasm, commitment and knowledge for everything events is infectious. Speak to her on the phone, meet her at the showroom or request a consult - and your guaranteed to leave here inspired.

There’s not quite one word to explain Jess. A girl of many different random talents that you would never expect. The ultimate project starter but always degree in Event Management and Marketing under her belt, she is a people person and loves interacting with anyone. Jess loves helping people out and making sure they have what they need, nothing is ever a problem for her. She is now the youngest of the core crew. You can usually find Jess enjoying a rose wine no matter the occasion. Always smiling and will make sure you leave smiling too.

Operation Admin Support

As a fresh graduate with a bachelor’s in Project Management, Phoebe is here to help you with all your event needs. You’ll find her at the front desk of our Christchurch office where she’ll greet you with a smile. Known for her dry sense of humor, she may be the only one laughing at her jokes, but her positivity is contagious. The best drink to describe Phoebe is a strawberry daiquiri, just the right amount of sweetness and sass, enjoyed best in the sunshine. Sales & Admin Support

From a full-time florist, a new mum, to now joining the Happy Hire family. Emma has a background of talents and now she gets to share them with you all. As our Admin and sales support wizz, she is here to help with any questions you have. Emma manages our front desk, showroom, click & collect, and makes sure all clients are happy. An average day is managing the general admin of Happy Hire. In her spare time, she looks after her beautiful 1-year-old boy and gets stuck into the garden making things pretty. Emma's favorite part about working within the Happy Hire family is making sure clients enjoy their events.

Hamilton Branch Manager / Tron Master

Bringing 7 years experience in the events industry, Jordan is ready to bring your ideas to life. Jordan has done everything from weddings, corporate events and party set ups, to New Zealand’s largest agricultural Fieldays with interior fit outs. With a can-do attitude, he will make sure your event, whether big or small, is completed to the highest standard. In his spare time, he enjoys taking his daughter out on the boat biscuiting or a sneaky trip to Bunnings to check out the latest tools and of course a sausage sizzle on the way out.

Marquee Installer

Michael is one of our highly experienced Marquee Installers, this is the face you will see on-site delivering all your events. Michael is involved day to day, ensuring high satisfaction from clients, keeping all gear in top-notch, managing our fleet, and stepping up to look after the branch when Jordan is away. Michaels's favorite part of working at Happy Hire is the different places and people you meet. No day feels the same and there is always something to do and improve his skill set. If you see Michael onsite, make sure to say hey!

Look out, She's small but Mighty,...also a bit loud if you give her a cold big-bottle of Speights. From the Country, born, bred and raised as a sheep and beef farmer in Central Otago, Ali has had 'hard-worker' etched into her genes. Her eye for detail from her photography and art background ensures that completed jobs are done to their best potential, and her years of experience in hospitality allows her to communicate naturally with customers, (especially the old grumpy ones, they are her favourite,) so if you are needing a marquee set up on time and to a high standard, she's the one you want onsite. side-kick of Mitch, they combined to make a power-team in the Marquee and Events industry.

Wellington Manager “Wizard of Operations”

Mitch brings to this business a background of being outdoors, interacting with all different kinds of people. He has a Bachelor of Management and Planning. He is an outdoor enthusiast specifically known for his fishing and diving but also is a workhorse in both the field and office for Happyhire Wellington. Mitch deals with Clientele from the first point of contact right through to drive back from the completed job. His favourite part about this job is the different locations but also events that we set up, and the smile that he gives clients once the job is set up. If you ever require any assistance with any event you may have in the North Island, please give Mitch a bell!

Warehouse Support

Marquees, Warehouse, cleaning, and prepping Jess is a whizz at it all. Based in our Dunedin team, you will meet Jess onsite and on collections. Roaming around the warehouse you may see Molly & Cindy who are Jess's 2 labrador dogs. In my spare time, I love to travel around New Zealand and capture it all. Racing Operations Manager

Born and raised in Christchurch, Sam is returning to his hometown after stints of university in Dunedin and working in Wellington, he joins the Happy Hire team to focus on providing horse racing events with event infrastructure for their summer race meetings. He has previously worked in this role for the last 6 racing seasons so most of his summer months are spent traveling to racecourses across the country, from Invercargill to Whangarei and everywhere in between! Sam has a passion for the racing industry and providing racing clubs with a high class event so punters and customers can enjoy everything there is to racing.
